One of the drawbacks of using Wordpress as your blogging platform is that if you don’t update your wordpress fast enough, you’re bound to get infected by the awfully annoying malwares.
Normally, besides affecting your main wordpress directory install, they also pollute your theme directories.
After spending so much time cleaning up my directories and second guessing where the malware edits made, I’ve opted to use Git as a way to ensure that my directories are always in pristine condition.
Malware attack? No worries!
$ git reset --hard
Obviously you should also restore to your last known database backup. Malware code are known to reside in databases as well.
